At Weaverham  High School we have high expectations and understand what outstanding Teaching and Learning looks like. Our Raising Standards Team have worked hard to develop and embed a ‘Weaverham Way’ of learning.  The Weaverham Way will ensure that your child develops a love of learning, becomes an inquisitive and curious learner, is challenged and supported in equal measure and above all feels successful.

As part of our drive to raise standards and ensure we achieve high standards in every lesson, we have devised a Quality Work Policy. One strand of this policy is to highlight to pupils what steps they need to take every lesson to ensure their work is the best it can be.   This reminder will be placed in the front of every book and referred to every lesson.

Pupil Check-list:
The Twelve Steps to Guarantee Work you can be Proud of!

Have you:

1. Ruled off from your last lesson’s work, underlined the title and full date of your new work?
2. Written as neatly as you can with blue or black pen with no doodles or graffiti?
3. Crossed out any mistakes neatly with a single line?
4. Completed all drawings in pencil and labelled them (where appropriate) in pen?
5. Checked your work against the success criteria to ensure you have done your best to produce a high quality piece?
6. Responded to all EBI comments in as much depth as possible to show your understanding of how to improve?
7. Planned, proof read and redrafted your work to ensure that it is your absolute best?
8. Stuck all worksheets into your book (without folding them) and labelled them clearly?
9. Checked any spellings that you aren’t 100% sure about in a dictionary or other source?
10. Used punctuation accurately?
11. Developed your ideas in as much detail as is required and linked ideas together using the appropriate conjunctions?
12. Shown ambition and precision in your vocabulary choices?

Is the answer “yes” to all twelve questions? If so, well done as you have officially completed your work to the best of your ability and so should feel really proud!
