Rewarding Excellence

Behaviour For Learning Grades (BFL)

Celebrating the success of pupils is a fundamental part of our school ethos. We want pupils to feel proud of their achievements and as a consequence, we acknowledge success each and every day through our Behaviour For Learning strategy.

The last three Ofsted Inspections at Weaverham High School have recognised that behaviour is Good throughout the school. We have high expectations for all pupils and use a progressive range of sanctions when necessary.

An Ethic Of Excellence

We understand that environment and culture play a key role in shaping a young person’s experience of school. We aim to create “An Ethic Of Excellence” within our school community. We believe that every child can be excellent, has the capacity to be the best version of themselves and should therefore be proud of their achievements. Excellence requires perseverance, resilience and discipline. Qualities that will be celebrated every lesson, every day, every term. Our praise and reward strategy ensures students are celebrated for their achievements. Short term rewards are designed to provide the stepping stones to longer term success. Each academic year concludes with our annual celebration event. This event seeks to reward the maximum number of current Weaverham High School students for their endeavours and attainment across the academic year.

Weaverham High School Rewarding Excellence Strategy

Weaverham High School uses rewards to encourage, motivate and celebrate the success of students. We recognise our pupils are individuals, with unique skills, talents and abilities. We understand that each pupil has a story, and their personal circumstances vary greatly. We understand that success looks different for every individual and that rewarding success is essential. Reward motivates learners to strive to be the best they can be. Reward enhances self-esteem and encourages those who may be struggling to persevere. Reward recognizes the most deserving. Rewards at Weaverham High School are equitable for ALL. Our offer is consistent. We operate short term, focused rewards.
