Year 7 to 11 Careers Provision 
Weaverham High School is proud to have achieved the IAG (Impartial Advice and Guidance) (Impartial Advice and Guidance) Gold Standard Award in recognition of the quality of our CEIAG (Careers education, information, and guidance) provision. The Careers programme is delivered through a combination of methods: 

• ‘Stage-Age’ taught Careers provision for Years 7-11 features within the ‘Life’ (PSHCE) curriculum. Themes
• ‘One to One’ personal guidance is also provided via external specialist careers advisors (M-Ploy), to ensure that our programme can meet the individual needs of all students in Year 10. Lisa Hutchinson is the Careers Adviser she is in school on a Thursday and in Year 10 or 11 you will be given an appointment with her through your form tutor. The Careers plan is then made available to you via google classroom in the careers section.
• Aspirational visits from a range of employers and to various to workplaces, and apprenticeships providers feature in our programme
• Local Colleges, Further & Higher Education providers are invited into school to give informative and aspirational assemblies, we will also visit local colleges to attend taster days.
• In National Careers Week, all curriculum areas are involved in a whole-school CEIAG focus that involves linking curriculum to careers via Careers related lesson activities, tutor time themes and Careers related assemblies.
• In Year 10, all students take part in a meaningful work experience programme.
• In years 8 -11 all students can speak to employers, FE/HE providers and training providers from a wide range workplaces and industries through our ‘Aspirations Evening’ careers fair, whereby parents and carers can join their children in investigating personalised future study / employment avenues.
• Clear links to careers opportunities within each subject curriculum area and review of local, regional, and national Labour Market Information, ensuring our students develop a clear understanding of the prospective careers’ opportunities available to them within respective fields of interest.
