The Cheshire interschool competition to promote reading.
Weaverham High School Book Quiz team reached the Finals this year at the King’s School in Chester. We came 3rd out of the 23 schools that took part. Our team included Noah Bradley year 8, George Sharp year 8, Maddie Dyson year 7 and Sonia Rushton year 7. The competition ran from September to Easter and consisted of six quiz rounds based on 6 books and general ‘Booky’ knowledge! Our team scored high on all these rounds securing a place in the Finals. The evening at the King’s School was exciting and a little tense but our team really pulled together. It was especially wonderful to have the support from parents and other Year 7s who came along to cheer us on. All the finalists received book tokens from the famous author Paul Dowsell and he later commented on how polite our students were. Congratulations to our students -what an effort!
