Catch Up Premium

Strategy to Reduce the Difference through the Catch Up Premium

The catch-up premium gives schools additional funding for Year 7 pupils who did not achieve at least level 4 in reading and/or maths at the end of key stage 2 (KS2).

Sutton Trust – Education Endowment Foundation have provided a summary of educational research that provides guidance to schools on how to use resources to improve attainment. NFER publication term indicates that it may take on average 3-5 years before intervention impacts on pupil outcomes
